The bill givesz employees of small businesses who lost their jobsaftet Sept. 1, 2008, and who declined COBRA becauswe of itshigh costs, a second chance to entetr the program.
Under this plan, those formetr workers can continue their healthg insurance coverage and receive a 65 percenttpremium reduction. The law also providesa up to an additional three months of coverage for manyformefr employees. Sen. Susan Garrett, and Rep. Karen May, D-Highwood, sponsored the legislation.
