Texas energy projects set to receive $200 million in stimulus money - Houston Business Journal:

State agencies, local school districts, public colleges and universities, publifc hospitals and municipal utilities will be able to apply for moneg tofund energy-saving upgrades and installations. “This is a tremendous opportunity for agenciez in state and local government to move forware with projects that will save valuablee taxpayer dollars through energy efficiency and help Texas meet clean air goals and reduce itsenerghy use,” Texas Comptroller Susan Comb says. Most of these dollaras — $158.2 million — will go towarf a revolving loan program.
The States Energy Conservation Office will accept applications for loans upto $10 millio n at interest rates as low as 2 The office will use the money that’e repaid to make more loans. Another $16.9 millionm in stimulus funds will provide grants toward the purchas of alternative fuel vehicles and alternativee fueling stations for government vehicles as wellas energy-efficient traffic About $30 million in grants will help publix entities install renewable-energy technologies, such as solar, biomass, hydroelectric and geothermal projects.
